唯之與阿，相去幾何？美之與惡，相去若何？人之所畏，不可不畏。荒兮，其未央哉！眾人熙熙，如享太牢，如春登臺。我獨泊兮，其未兆；沌沌兮，如嬰兒之未孩；傫傫兮，若無所歸。眾人皆有餘，而我獨若遺。我愚人之心也哉！俗人昭昭，我獨昏昏。俗人察察，我獨悶悶。澹兮，其若海；飂兮，若無止。眾人皆有以，而我獨頑且鄙。我獨異於人，而貴食母。

What things frightening or terrifying for people，I have to fear. What a vast world ！I don't where is its end. Everyone was bustling, as joyful as sharing the sacrifices after the sacrificial ritual，and as cheerful as climbing the high mountain in the spring outing. Only I am alone and inert， free from worry and joy. Like a baby，I am so ignorant and innocet. Like a wanderer，I am exhausted but do not know where to return to. Every person is so wealthy and have superfluous riches，and I seem to have lost something. It seems that only a fool's heart do I have. Every person is so bright that dazzles the eyes，only I am so dim and dull. Every person is so smart that gain fame and wealth，only I am so foolish and have no desire. My mind wanders，like the waves in the sea，so unsettled. My mind is blanked，I don't know where is my destination.
Every person has great life goal and so ambitious，only I am as silly and ignorant as a village man. The only difference is that I understand the Nature's principl.
