“忘記給你打電話”不是forget calling you，別再錯了！

之前看見有粉絲在後臺問，“忘記做某事”為什麼寫“forget doing sth”不對，今天就給大家講一下，好多單詞雖然有“to do”和“doing sth”兩種形式，但是這兩種形式卻是有不同的意思。

比如，我們說，“忘記給你打電話”就應該是，“forget to call you”.

同樣的還有以下這些：

remember

remember to do

記得去做某事

Remember to post me the letter.

記得替我把這封信寄出去。

remember doing sth

記得做過某事

I remember having turned off the light before Ieft the room.

我記得離開房子之前我已經把燈關了。

mean

mean to do

打算做某事

I meant to write another letter.

我打算再寫封信。

mean doing sth

意味著

The last bus has gone, which means walking home.

最後一趟汽車開走了，這意味著要步行回家。

試圖

He tried to have another go.

他企圖再試一次。

try doing sth

試著做某事

The man tried writing with his left hand.

這個男人試著用左手寫字。
