Dancing to the River
The animals of the forest are hungry.
森林裡的小動物們好餓呀。
They look for food.
他們到處找吃的。
The birds look in the sky.
鳥兒飛到天上找。
The squirrels look in the ground.
小松鼠在地上找。
The monkeys look in the trees.
猴子跑到樹上找。
They find nothing.
但他們什麼都找不到。
So the animals leave the forest.
所以，小動物們離開大森林。
They go to look for food inWatchman's field.
他們要到守田人的地裡去找吃的。
They birds fly and the animals run.
鳥兒飛著，小動物們跑著。
Turtle is in the river.
小烏龜住在河裡。
She sees the birds flying and the animals running.
她看見鳥兒飛走了，小動物都跑了。
It's quiet in the forest,and Turtle is lonely.
森林裡靜悄悄的。她真孤單啊。
She follows the birds and the animals.
小烏龜跟著鳥兒和小動物們一塊兒走。
Turtle finds her friends.They're in
小烏龜找到了夥伴們。
Watchman's field,eating the corn.
他們正在守田人的地裡吃玉米。
The birds say,"Run away,Turtle!Run away from Watchman!"
鳥兒說：“烏龜烏龜你快跑！別讓守田人抓著！”
Turtle says,"Don't worry.Watchman can'tcatch me."
小烏龜說：“別擔心。守田人抓不住我。”
But the corn is high and Turtle can't see.
可是，玉米長得太高了，小烏龜看不見守田人。
Suddenly Watchman appears with a stick in his hand.
忽然，守田人出現了，手裡還拿著一根棍子。
The birds fly away.The animals run away.
鳥兒飛走了，小動物也跑了，
Turtle is alone.
只剩下小烏龜自己。
"Aha!"says Watchman."I've got you."
“啊哈！”守田人說：“我抓到你了。”
He puts Turtle in his bag.
他把小烏龜放進口袋裡。
Watchman walks across the fieldand sings a song.
守田人唱著歌，穿過田地。
The song makes Turtle want to dance.
他的歌聲讓小烏龜很想跳舞。
She says,"Hey,Watchman,that's a sweet song!"
小烏龜對守田人說：“嘿，守田人，你的歌真好聽！”
"Do you like my song?I make up the words,you know,"says Watchman.
“你喜歡我的歌嗎？要知道，這詞可是我自己編的”守田人說。
"I can make up songs,too,"says Turtle.
“我也能編歌。”小烏龜說。
"Well,can you make up a song for me now?"says Watchman.
“是嗎？那你現在能為我編一首嗎？”
Then Turtle says,"Yes,but when I sing I like to dance too."
守田人問。小烏龜說：“行啊，但是我得邊唱邊跑才行。”
So Watchman takes Turtle out of his bag.
於是，守田人把小烏龜從口袋裡放了出來。
Turtle sings a song.She sings and she dances.
小烏龜唱了起來。他邊唱邊跑。
"Let's dance to the right and turn around.
“我們跳右邊，然後轉個圈。
Let's dance to the left and turn around.
我們跳左邊，再轉一個圈。
Let's jump and dance.Let's turn and dance.
我們跳跳舞。我們轉轉圈。
We're dancing to the river."
我們跳著舞，來到小河邊。”
It's an easy song to sing.It's an easy song to dance to.
這歌唱著容易，跟著跳舞也不難。
Soon Watchman is dancing too.
很快，守田人也跟著跳了起來。
"Let's dance to the right and turn around.
“我們跳右邊，然後轉個圈。
Let's dance to the left and turn around.
我們跳左邊，再轉一個圈。
Let's jump and dance.Let's turn and dance.
我們轉轉圈。
We're dancing to the river."
我們跳著舞，來到小河邊。”
Turtle dances faster and faster.
小烏龜越跳越快，
Watchman dances faster and faster.
守田人也越跳越快。
Turtle turns and jumps and turns.
小烏龜邊跳舞邊轉圈，
Watchman turns and jumps and turns.
守田人也跟著跳舞，轉圈。
He doesn't see the river.
守田人沒看見小河，
Then he hears a loud SPLASH!
只聽見“嘩啦”一聲！
Turtle dives into the river and swims away.
小烏龜一個猛子扎進河裡遊走了。
