No是形容詞，只能作定語表示，意思是“沒有”，修飾可數名詞 (單數或複數)或不可數名詞。如：
There is no time left. Please hurry up. (沒有時間了，請快點)
They had no reading books to lend. (他們沒有閱讀用書可以出借)
none只能獨立使用，在句子中可作主語、賓語和表語，意思是“沒有一個人(或事物)”，表示複數或單數。如：
None of them is/are in the classroom. (他們當中沒有一個在教室裡)
I have many books, but none is interesting. (我有很多的書,但沒有一本是有趣的)
(1) no one 沒有一個人; none 也指沒有一個人，但它強調三者或三者以上的都不 ( 當談論兩者以上都不時，用neither,不用none) ; nobody指沒有一個人，它強調的是連一個也沒有; nothing 指的是什麼也沒有，指的是物；anything 指的是任何事或物;
nobody, no one, nothing只能單獨使用，後面不跟of短語。none可以跟of連用表示範圍，或者單獨一個none作為回答。none表示 三者以上。如：
Neither of my sisters could be there.
如: 1. —— A：how much money do you have?
—— B：none. It is none of your business.（這事與你無關）
2. 誤：Nobody of them can speak Japanese.
3. 正：Nobody can speak Japanese.
4. 正: None of them can speak Japanese.
(2) nobody, no one, nothing和none常用作簡略答語，一般情況下，nothing回答what問句；nobody
和no one回答who問句；none回答how m any或how much問句。
① — What’s in the box? 盒子裡有什麼？
— Nothing. 什麼也沒有。
② — Who is in the classroom? 誰在教室裡？
— Nobody / No one. 沒有人。
③ — How many people are there in the park? 公園裡有多少人？
— None. 沒有人。
(3) none 可用來回答“ any + 名詞”構成的一般疑問句：而 nobody 和 nothing 則分別用來回答由 anybody 和 anything 構成的一般疑問句。如：
— Is there any bread left？
— No, none at all.
— Is there anything in the sky？
— No, nothing.
(4 ) none 可用來指代前面提到過的人或物；如無指代時可用 no one / nobody 及 nothing。如：
We had three cats once — none of them is alive now.
(5) no one作主語時謂語動詞只用單數形式；none做主語時，謂語動詞用單複數形式均可。用單數更為正式一點．
None of my friends is/are interested in basketball.
(6). None 與 not all / all…not
not all / all…not 表示三者或三者以上的部分否定；而 none 表示三者或三者以上的全部否定。
如：Not all ads are good. 並非所有的廣告都好。
(7). None but，nobody but 及 nothing but
nobody but 表示單一概念，謂語動詞用單數形式；none but 可指人也可指物，通常指前面提到的同一事物，謂語動詞要用複數形式；nothing but 泛指 but 後事物以外的任何事物。如：
Nobody but he is often late for school. 除他以外，沒有人上學常遲到。
None but fools have even believed it. 除了傻瓜，沒有人相信這一點。
There is a variety of fruit， but he chose nothing but an apple.
(8) none 可指物質名詞或抽象概念，構成短語have none of，意為“不允許；不接受；拒絕參加”，常和 will / would 連用，表示意願。如：
I will have none of your stupid ideas！
(9) none other than 意為“就是；恰恰是”。如：
The new arrival was none other than the President.
(10) no是形容詞只能修飾名詞。not是副詞修飾動詞，形容詞，副詞等。none是代詞可以做主語，賓語，表語。
(11 ) none 可用來指代前面提到過的人或物；如無指代時可用 no one / nobody 及 nothing .
如： We had three cats once — none of them is alive now.
注意: 首先nobody是指人的，nothing是指物的，而none可以指人也可以指物，但是如果一個選擇題裡面同時出現了nothing和none或者nobody和none呢？我們可以這樣分析：none強調一個也不存在。舉個例子就很明顯了：比如說我去教室找老師，可教室裡全是學生，一個老師都沒有，我問how many teachers are there? 可以直接回答none。而不能使用nobody，因為 nobody是強調沒有人，因為教室裡面是有人的，只是沒有你要找的。所以強調一個不存在。或者說超市裡沒有一個東西是你想要買的你需要的，也用none。none強調數量沒有，而nothing強調沒有東西 (包括沒有人) 如：there is nothing here.
