把“降低價格”說成decrease the price，外企同事會表示詫異

不少同學CET4，CET6可以一次過，甚至專四專八都如同砍瓜切菜一般，真的用到英語的時候，表達得不夠好。去過外企鍛鍊幾年的一般都說得不錯，可以對比外企常用英語和應試英語的差別有助於提高。比如，要表達“給某人轉發郵件”，有同學說send email to sb，外企常說forward the email to sb，單詞forward 才突出了“轉發”之意；要表達“下海經商”，翻譯成go to the sea to do business 是錯的，地道說法是go into business 就好了；要表達“覺得有精力做某事”翻譯成“have the energy to do sth”老外也懂，但是地道的表達是“feel up to sth”，例如after the accident，he didn't feel up to driving翻譯是“事故之後，他開車力不從心”；要表達“掌握要領”，我們習慣說master the key point of sth，外企地道表達是get the hang of things，單詞hang是“懸掛方式”，懂得怎麼掛自然就是掌握技巧了。

當然，用什麼表達是個人的喜好，你瞎比劃老外也懂你的意思，但是從學習的角度，越地道越好。我們現在來討論在外企，“降低價格”怎麼說才合適。部分同學喜歡用decrease the price，其實也算對，但是在外企，你會看到很少有人這麼說，我們可以說reduce the price，也可以make a concession in price，或者make a price reduction，或者cut down the price，這些更加地道。

我們通過例句來學習這些表達：

Attendance have increase since we reduce the price of ticket.

我們降低了票價，到場的人就多起來了。

We'd like to make a concession in price if you are willing to place big order.

如果貴方願意下大單，我們十分樂意在價格上做出讓步。

We would rather cut down the price than keep a large quantity of goods in stock.

我們寧肯降低價格，也不願積壓大量貨物。

如果要表達“把價格降到..”就要在cut down the price 後面添加上by，表示讓步的具體幅度。還可以說lower the price by.. 這些細微的表達大家要好好掌握。
