1. yet作連詞表轉折，意為“但是”、“然而”。如：
He said he would be late, yet he arrived on time.
2. 連詞yet有時可與並列連詞and或but連用，構成習語and yet和but yet，且兩者大致同義(均相當於錶轉折的but)｡

3. 連詞yet不僅可以連接兩個句子，也可以連接兩個形容詞，可譯成“卻”。如：
