1. make & do 的區別

make強調動作的結果,其賓語一般是產品或成果;do是指做事,其賓語一般是某個任務或工作。如:

make the bed 整理床鋪 make breakfast 做早餐 make a mistake 犯錯

do the dishes 洗餐具 do the chores處理瑣事,幹家務 do the laundry 洗衣服

do a survey 做調查 do Chinese kung fu 練中國功夫 do some reading 看書

do some housework幹家務 do one’s homework做家庭作業

2. Could you please clean your room?

Could you please…? 請求別人做某事

這是could的一般疑問句,並非詢問對方有無能力,而是向對方提出請求,有禮貌地請求允許幹某事, 意思是“請你……,好嗎?”。could是can的過去式,但在本句型中並不表示時間上的區別,而只有語氣上的不同。could沒有can那麼肯定,而是較為委婉,使這種請求聽起來顯得更加客氣,更含有尊敬的意味。如:

Could you please take out the rubbish? 能請你倒掉垃圾嗎?

肯定回答: Yes, I can. / Yes, sure. / Sure, I’d love to.

否定回答: No, I can’t. / Sorry, I can’t.

注意: (1) 在進行實際回答中,要注意人稱的對應。

(2) 這裡Could是一種委婉、客氣的禮貌用語,作肯定否定回答時,要用can, can’t來代替。

1. borrow & lend

borrow表示“向別人借”,暫時使用,為非延續動詞,不能與表示一段時間的時間狀語連用,一般borrow與from連用。例如:

1 You can borrow this book from the library. 你可以從圖書館裡借這本書。

2 May I borrow your bike? 我可以借一下你的自行車嗎?

borrow的反義詞為lend表示“借給某人”,常與to連用,可以跟雙賓語。例如:

Mike lent a book to John. = Mike lent John a book. 邁克借給約翰一本書。

注意:在表達“借了多長時間”時,既不能用borrow 也不能用lend, 因為他們是終止性動詞,要用keep。如:

--How long may I keep the book? 這本書我可以借多長時間?

--You can keep it for two weeks. 你可以借兩週.

2. For one week, she did not do any housework and neither did I.

neither用作副詞,作“也不”解釋,放在句首,表示前面否定的內容也適用於另一個人或物,句子須採用部分倒裝。此時也可用nor替換neither使用。

--I don't like this dress. 我不喜歡這件連衣裙。

--Neither / Nor do I. 我也不喜歡。

3. I’ll finish my homework while you help me with the dishes.

while作並列連詞用,意思為“而,然而”,表對比。而but錶轉折,注意用心比較體會while與but的句中用意。例如:

Some people waste food while others haven't enough.

有些人很費糧食,然而有些人卻吃不飽。

Honey is sweet but the bee stings. 蜂蜜很甜,但蜜蜂有刺蜇人

invite 意為“邀請,請求”,常見的用法有:

⑴ invite sb. 邀請某人

此外,invite還可變形為invitation,從動詞的邀請變為名詞的邀請;。例如
