奧斯卡·王爾德（Oscar Wilde，1854~1900），19世紀出生在英國（準確來講是愛爾蘭，但是當時由英國統治）最偉大的作家與藝術家之一，以其劇作、詩歌、童話和小說聞名。唯美主義代表人物，19世紀80年代美學運動的主力和90年代頹廢派運動的先驅。代表作《快樂王子》《道林·格雷的畫像》。
在他短短46年的傳奇人生裡，王爾德留下了無數驚世駭俗妙句，其中不少是他作品中人物的話。如果他活在今天，就算他沒有寫過那些才華橫溢的童話、小說和劇本，光靠每天發發微博，也一定能成為千萬粉絲的大V。
有人說毒舌分兩種，有些人毒舌是因為自己不爽，還有些人毒舌是為了讓自己爽。張愛玲是第一種人，而王爾德就是第二種人。
1881年，王爾德坐船橫跨大洋來到美利堅，進關的時候傲然地對海關官員翻了個白眼說：“我沒有什麼可以申報的，除了我的才華。” (I have nothing to declare except my genius.)
