The timing is downright objectively bad. The fact that we're reportedly just promoting our associate head coach to permanent head coach is even worse. If Hoiberg wasn't right for the team, what makes GarPax think another member of his staff would be better? I don't know Boylen's style but this is so so weird.

I doubt there is a great coach available at this point in the season. So if you have a great coach in mind, there is no reason to fire Hoiberg now and leave the rest of your season in the hands of an interim coach.
