說到“剩女”，似乎就是這幾年間才冒出來的詞兒，但是已經被大家廣泛接受。 指的是一些擁有高學歷、高收入、高智商、長相也無可挑剔的女性，由於擇偶要求比較高，導致在婚姻上得不到理想歸宿，而變成“剩女”的大齡女青年。
這些“三高女”在日本也被稱作“3s女”，即“single(單身)、seventies(大多數生於上世紀七十年)、stuck(被卡住了)”。(小編：其實這裡的seventies過幾年後就要改成eighties了吧……)
