約翰內斯·維米爾（Johannes Vermeer ； Jan Vermeer），出生於荷蘭代爾夫特（1632年10月31日—1675年12月15日），荷蘭優秀的風俗畫家，被看作“荷蘭小畫派”的代表畫家。 代表作品有《戴珍珠耳環的少女》，《花邊女工》、《士兵與微笑的少女》。維米爾同哈爾斯和倫勃朗並列為荷蘭三大繪畫大師。這位在荷蘭商業繁盛時期不被看好的畫家，一生潦倒，身後卻受到無限追捧。他駕馭光線的手法，以及構圖和造型的精細程度，都讓他成為當之無愧的“光影大師”。
他擅於描繪風俗題材的維米爾，常以從事勞務的婦女為對象，展現日常生活場景，就像一段段小品文，表現了荷蘭人對周遭環境和生活氛圍的追求。畫面溫馨寧靜，雖然所繪景象多顯普通，卻不失莊重感。

維米爾的畫具有尋常中容易被忽略的美。倒牛奶的女子，小憩的婦人，手持圓規的地理學家，寂靜安然的街市，以及在並不特別的一天裡所觀察到的自己生活著的這座城市。不被特意安排的、沒有特定意義的物象和所見，平凡普通猶如空氣和水，卻也是生之必須。
承認那些平凡的日常就是我們的大部分經歷，或許更能擁有淡然處世的心境。欣賞灑入窗腳的陽光，期待天空中變幻莫測的雲，比較今天的溫度和昨日的區別，感受一株植物的生長週期。平凡中孕育著不同的偉大，大概就是維米爾的藝術所傳遞的生活哲學。
