All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players.

大千世界是個舞臺，所有男男女女不過是戲子。

They have their exits and their entrances, and one man in his time plays many parts.

他們各有登場和退場，而一個人一生扮演著那麼些角色。

At first the infant, mewling and puking in the nurse's arms.

首先是嬰兒，在奶媽懷中啼哭著，嘔吐著。

Then the whining school-boy, with his satchel And shining morning face.

其次是揹著書包滿面晨光的牢騷學童。

And then the lover, sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad.

跟著是情人，象鍋爐般嘆息，唱著憂傷的歌謠。

Then a soldier, full of strange oaths, and bearded like the pard, seeking the bubble reputation even in the cannon's mouth.

隨後是士兵，滿是奇怪的誓言，如豹子般的鬍鬚，追求那泡沫般的名聲，甚至連火炮口也不怕。

And then the justice, in fair round belly with good capon lined, full of wise saws and modern instances.

然後是法官，那好圓的肚子用上等的閹雞填滿，多的是智慧的格言，日常的事例。

The sixth age shifts into the lean and slippered pantaloon.

第六樣年齡化作瘦削的，穿拖鞋的傻老頭。

With spectacles on nose and pouch on side, his youthful hose, well saved, a world so wide......

鼻上架著眼鏡，腰間掛著菸袋。年輕時保存良好的長褲套在瘦癟的腿上顯得寬又蕩......
