LaVar Ball 解釋 Lonzo Ball 簽名鞋貴過 Air Jordan 之緣由

要說上週最受鞋迷熱議的話題，當數 2017 NBA 熱門狀元 Lonzo Ball 以自家品牌名義推出首款簽名鞋 ZO2，不僅成為史上第一位擁有簽名鞋的未選秀球員，更以 $495 美元的超高售價而引發不小爭議，畢竟這個價格比 LeBron James，Kevin Durant 和 Stephen Curry 三人的簽名鞋售價總和還要貴，更別提籃球鞋的龍頭老大 Jordan Brand 了。最近熱衷「炒作」的球員父親 LaVar Ball 在作客 FS1 節目《Undisputed》時解釋了 ZO2 比 Air Jordan 鞋款更貴的原因，在他看來Michael Jordan沒能在菜鳥賽季之前就擁有一雙價值 $100 美元的簽名鞋，是因為他不是 Lonzo Ball，NBA 正在進入一個新的紀元叫作「Ball Era」，並且 ZO2 已經是球鞋歷史上的里程碑之作。

He don’t have to play in a game, he did more than enough. Look what he did with UCLA. He sold that place out and it hasn’t been sold out in 10 years. What you mean he ain’t did enough? They got Gucci and Prada, what have they done? At least my son can play. Here’s the thing, Michael Jordan could not command $100 for a pair of sneakers [as a rookie], because he ain’t Lonzo Ball, that’s why. I’m gonna tell you again, did [Jordan] have his own brand when he came in? It’s a new era, called the Ball Era. That [ZO2] shoe is symbolic already on the fact that he’s coming in on his own brand. Nobody’s ever done that.
