Tianhe Venture Capital Building, the first building dedicated to venture capital in China, was opened on June 17, after the opening ceremony of the 19th China Venture Capital & Private Equity Forum was held in Guangzhou.
The new building represents one of the measures taken by the Tianhe district government to attract equity investment organizations engaged in venture capital to relocate to the city.
Guangzhou is aiming to become a city of venture capital investment. So far, Tianhe district has 215 licensed financial institutions, accounting for 70 percent of the total financial institutions in Guangzhou.
It has over 3,000 equity investment organizations, with funds of 700 billion yuan under their management. These organizations have become a vital and important driving force in the innovative development of Guangzhou.
Tianhe Venture Capital Building is located in the Tianhe Central Business District in Zhujiang New Town, adjacent to Huacheng Square. Equipped with ideal facilities, the 68-floor building has a construction area of over 200,000 square meters.
At present, the building has gathered a number of venture capital institutions, financial enterprises and technology companies. The 66th floor to 68M floor of the building, about 20,000 square meters in area, will be used to attract a number of well-known venture capital enterprises and associations.
It is expected that by 2020 the building will be home to more than 100 venture capital institutions, with the size of management funds reaching 200 billion yuan.
